Is this for you?
Both my aesthetic and my website-in-a-day approach are pretty unusual – and they’re not for everyone. Here’s how to tell if we’ll be a good fit.
This is probably for you if…
- You’re kind of obsessed with the thing you need a site or blog for (i.e. you need a site or blog for a “passion project”).
- You want a website that is as well-thought-out from a marketing point of view as it is aesthetically beautiful.
- You want a website that’s brimming with magical visual depth and detail (none of this cookie cutter business!).
- You’d like to be set up with a site you can maintain and add to yourself (three cheers for empowerment!).
- You’re prepared to take charge of the content on your site, meaning that you don’t mind entering your copy and learning to format your own text within your posts and pages.
- You’re willing to trust the aesthetic and organizational opinion of an expert (that’s me! I’ve been designing sites for 16 years, so I’d like to think I know my stuff).
- You are just one person (my web design process is based on a one-on-one approach, so if you’re more than one person, it muddles things up and makes design decisions much harder. As they say, “too many cooks spoil the broth”).
- You value creativity and “pushing the envelope”.
- You can set aside a full weekday (7 hours) to work with me via Skype (don’t worry – lunch, coffee, and dance breaks are allowed and encouraged!).
- You’re prepared to make an investment of $1587 into getting a killer web presence that doesn’t compromise on form OR function.
- You want, need, have to have a website that’s completely enchantingly gorgeous!
This is probably NOT for you if…
- You know yourself to be indecisive or “wishy-washy” when it comes to design.
- You’d like to see several totally different design options for your site and be able to pick between them before proceeding with a specific direction.
- You’re looking for a designer/developer who will be available to make changes and additions to your site in the future (I’m happy to refer you to other people who can make site tweaks for you, but I don’t take care of additional changes myself).
- You need a site with lots of specialized functionalities or e-commerce integration (there just isn’t time for this stuff with my website-in-a-day model). Not sure if what you need qualifies as “specialized”? Drop me a line, and we’ll discuss. ![]()
- You’d prefer to work with a designer who is local or who can work on your site over a period of weeks or months.
- You know how to make graphics in Photoshop or Illustrator, and if you knew how to turn them into a website, you’d probably just do it yourself instead of hiring a designer. If this sounds like you, I recommend you check out my online web design course for design-minded ladies: The Girl’s Guide to Web Design.
- You’re a print designer, graphic designer, or someone else who has extremely specific ideas about how your site or blog should look (if this sounds like you, The Girl’s Guide to Web Design is also a great option for you to check out).
If you think we’re a match and you need an amazing site or blog, then let’s get this party started! Head on over and send me a note telling me what you need a blog or site for!
